ASDSO Releases Simplified Risk Categorization Tool for Dams

As part of their State and National Dam Safety Program, the Association of State Dam Safety Officials (ASDSO) has released pre-release versions of the Simplified Risk Categorization Tool, consisting of two Excel spreadsheets, and a users manual. More info after the break. (Photo by drainhook)

The Excel-spreadsheet-based tool is intended to provide a simplified, but risk-based, vehicle for completing screening level evaluations that can be used for initial prioritization of dam safety concerns in a portfolio of dams. Prerelease versions of the tool, consisting of two Excel spreadsheets, and a users manual are available for downloading from the ASDSO website. Official release versions of the tool and the users manual will be available from the NDSRB website in the near future.
